When does the Barrie line run?
Barrie line trains are most frequent during weekday peak hours in the peak direction. All-day two-way service runs between Union and Aurora on weekdays; weekend service runs to Aurora as well. Service all the way to Allandale Waterfront is concentrated during peak periods, with a growing midday and weekend presence as GO Expansion continues.

About the Barrie line
The Barrie line runs between Union Station and Allandale Waterfront in Barrie, serving commuters across York Region and southern Simcoe County. Eleven stations span the line: Downsview Park, Rutherford, Maple, King City, Aurora, Newmarket, East Gwillimbury, Bradford, Barrie South, and the Allandale Waterfront terminus. The corridor has expanded substantially under the GO Expansion program, moving from peak-only to growing all-day two-way service. Downsview Park connects to TTC Line 1 (Sheppard West), and intermediate stations link to York Region Transit, Viva, and other local bus networks.

- Does the Barrie line run on weekends?
- Yes — between Union and Aurora on most weekends. Service to Bradford, Barrie South, and Allandale Waterfront is more limited on weekends and concentrated around peak periods.
- How long does Union to Barrie take on the GO train?
- About 95 to 110 minutes end to end, depending on the trip and stopping pattern.
- Is Allandale Waterfront the same as Barrie?
- Allandale Waterfront is the lakefront GO station on the south side of Barrie. It is the current terminus of the Barrie rail corridor and is often just called the "Barrie GO station."
- Can I transfer to the TTC subway from the Barrie line?
- Yes. Transfer to TTC Line 1 (Yonge-University) at Downsview Park GO (Sheppard West station).
