About the Lakeshore East line

The Lakeshore East line connects Union Station in downtown Toronto with Oshawa, serving the fast-growing commuter belt through east-end Toronto, Scarborough, and Durham Region. Trains stop at ten stations from Union out to the Durham College campus in Oshawa, with intermediate stops at Danforth, Scarborough, Eglinton, Guildwood, Rouge Hill, Pickering, Ajax, and Whitby. Lakeshore East is one of only two GO corridors that runs all-day, two-way service every day of the week — the other is Lakeshore West. The line connects to the TTC subway at Danforth and Kennedy, and to Durham Region Transit at several outlying stations. Oshawa is the eastern terminus for most trips; some rush-hour trains extend further east only via replacement bus.
