About the Milton line

The Milton line runs between Union Station and Milton, crossing Toronto’s west end and the heart of Mississauga. Stops include Kipling (TTC subway connection), Dixie, Cooksville, Erindale, Streetsville, Meadowvale, and Lisgar before reaching the Milton terminus. Milton is one of the older GO rail corridors and has long been a peak-only, peak-direction line — trains run inbound to Union during the morning rush and outbound in the evening, with no midday or weekend rail service. Midday, evening, and weekend travel is served by a combination of Milton-area GO Bus routes. Improvements to the corridor to enable all-day service are part of the Ontario Line / GO Expansion program but are not yet in effect.

No. The Milton rail line is peak-direction weekday service only. Off-peak and weekend travel is provided by GO Bus routes serving the Milton corridor.
Why does the Milton line only run during rush hour?
The corridor is owned by Canadian Pacific, which limits slot availability for passenger service. Negotiations and infrastructure upgrades to enable all-day service are underway as part of the GO Expansion program.
Can I transfer from the Milton line to the TTC subway?
Yes. Transfer to TTC Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth) at Kipling GO.
How do I get from Milton to Union Station outside rush hour?
Take a GO Bus from the Milton corridor. GO operates bus routes that parallel the rail line during off-peak periods and weekends.
Where can I see live Milton line departures?
